ICTUSCORDIS is a series of intimate audiovisual biofeedback performances with the human heart as the main subject.
Series is dedicated to exploration of the intersections of art, technology, sound bio data and various applications of biofeedback. Human heart in the series goes far beyond the metaphor field of performing with a heart. It is an actual, living, physical, musical and visual instrument. The heartbeat is placed in various contexts, thus transcending the separation that man experiences during the Anthropocene epoch, due to loss of contact with himself and consequently, with nature. The author seeks the answer in the ultimate intimacy, which he addresses with a naked heart and places the subject in a space of inevitable truth where one can no longer escape. Not in front of himself, nor in front of the others.
Series is based on an audiovisual image that comes from a heartbeat and dynamically depicts the intimate relationship between the audience and the collective heartbeat. In the series, Januš Aleš Luznar collaborates with a team of experts, to explore the possibilities and consequences of manipulated biofeedback loop application.
The series promotes the awakening of consciousness by listening and observing. Finding yourself in the heartbeat of another means recognising the connection between all.

''real magic happens when you become an instrument yourself''

“ICTUSCORDIS‘‘ variatio ’’ 2020
A small intimate immersive audiovisual experience in which the author uses the hearts of individual guests.
In this ''variatio'', synthesizers are an addition to primarily used audio effects from the first part of the series ''modulatio''.
This performance is dedicated to research of the impact, of manipulative biofeedback loops on people with various professional and social backgrounds.
Some excerpts of recordings from 2020, have been included on Ictiscordis ''memoriae'' album released on Kamizdat records in March 2021.

ICTUSCORDIS '' dialogue '' 2019
Audiovisual contemporary dance performance based on the heartbeats of a dancer and the author.
At the forefront of the performative research is the creation of a space of references in the case of rhythmic coincidence and the synchronisation of two heartbeats.
Authors acoustic sound of the heartbeat is used as a musical instrument, whilst the dancers is connected via a heart rate sensor to control visual images.
They explore how manipulated biofeedback loops can be used as well as movements, to control their heart rates. They are searching for a space of synchronicity and harmony.

ICTUSCORDIS '' modulatio '' 2018
Intimate audio visual performance, where the artist invites the audience to a sacred space of artistic and spiritual feedback loop of his heartbeat.
With the manipulated biofeedback method, combining the acoustic sound of his heartbeat, sound processing modules, audio feedback and visual stimuli, he changes his heart rate and triggers the shifting of his and the audiences emotions. The effect of shifting is the consequence of psyhoacoustics in specific sound, visual images, and the unconscious mind and body communication.
Invariably performed live, with no pre-recorded samples, it is an immersive journey through a universe of ones primary emotions.
Performances are followed by Q&A.
